There’s been an outpouring of community support for a McLean County teen battling cancer.

You may have noticed the thousands of posts on Facebook over the past few days giving a ‘Thumbs up for Lane’. Thousands of people have been posting pictures of support from across the country.

13-year old Lane Goodwin was first diagnosed with a rare and aggressive childhood cancer in March of 2010. He relapsed in July of 2011 and again in May of this year.

This week, his parents, Angie and George Goodwin, found out the cancer had spread to his brain. They brought him home from Vanderbilt Wednesday.
There are a few fundraisers coming up to help support Lane and his family. There will be a pizza buffet at Rockhouse Pizza in Robards on Sunday from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m., with 100% of proceeds going to the family.
