So much tragedy

i sit and surf the world wide web looking for good stuff and it’s becoming so hard to do. The media makes it a point to only post violence or death. Why is this country feeding off of pain and sorrow it saddens me? I love life and enjoy it everyday, but I remember as a small boy the news was about good things going on and now its about who gets the most hits on there page so they post what sells. Trying to make this world a better place for me and my family to live in seems a endless road. people being murdered everyday, wars on every channel, hate crimes and violence it’s every where I look. There is no need for it but why does it continue to happen.I’ll tell you why it’s all they promote. kids have to have the war games for there X Box or Playstations and the news is terrible. Music of all genre is promoting sex before marriage or drugs or the use of woman as objects. these kids are our future and we are molding them into hate. To judge people and have no moral values of there own. It saddens me and I just thought I would share what was on my mind.I know this is an Islamic blog page but it needed to be addressed. Our brothers, sisters Mom’s and dad’s all over this planet are affected by this new breed and we must do our part to STOP IT. Just thought i’d share.

Six Tips To Dealing with TV

It’s tough to escape peer pressure when your friends keep talking about the clothes, the music and the stars. Today, Television defines teen culture. With its barrage of alluring advertisements and captivating shows, it tells you what is cool and what is ‘in’ and ‘out. Let Islam, not the media, decide your dress code, morals, and values.

1. Watch what is Halal. Stick to the most “clean” material you can find. TV should be used with discretion to watch educational and insightful programs or decent entertainment.

2. Remove the TV from your room. Having a TV set in your own room encourages you to watch it more. You are less likely to be tempted by Shaytan to watch something indecent when you have a parent, a sibling, or a friend watching with you. Remember, Shaytan loves attacking people who are ‘bored’, sitting idle, or in a company of bad people. Keep the TV in the main room, where it won’t distract you.

3. Adopt and support Islamic media. Hundreds of educational or entertainment multi-media products crafted by Muslim artists, writers, producers, and singers hit the market every year. These cartoons, movies, and songs could be enjoyable for the entire family!

4. Limit viewing time. If you have to watch TV, limit yourself. Write down a number of hours per week and stick to your limit.

5. Keep the box off when you’re doing other things. Whether you’re eating dinner, doing your homework, or reading a magazine, you dont need the TV to be on at the same time–keeping it on simply encourages you to watch TV more and neglect other activities.

6. Have a TV free get-together with friends. Make the following rule: no one will watch TV or movies in the living room. If you want to go further, make it a rule that the topics of conversation cannot revolve around the latest twist in a soap opera or the most recent plot on a sci-fi show. Play basketball, go for a walk, do anything but watch TV.

A Story Of A Muslim Brother and A Hospital Nurse …. plzzz share it

There was a companion of ours in Glasgow who became ill and was hospitalized. He was admitted for three days and on the fourth day the attendant nurse said, “Marry me”.
He [the brother in Glasgow] asked, “Why? I am a Muslim, you and I cannot become companions.”
She said, “I’ll become Muslim”.
“What’s the reason?” it was asked.
She said, “In all my time that I have served in hospitals, except you, I have never seen a man lower his gaze in front of a woman. In my life you are the first person who lowers his gaze when seeing a woman. I come, and you close your eyes. Such great modesty can be taught by none other than a true religion.”
The protection of one’s gaze entered Islam in her. She testified to the Oneness of Allah and became a Muslim. They both got married. By now, the same woman was and is the means of bringing so many other girls / women into Islam — with Ayomi Sudeshika, Ifrah Abdurazak, Obsa Ibrahim, Hane Ahmed, Maryama Kadir, Shana Shanû, Ayaj Kh and Nafisa Ahmad.
